Areas which I intend to investigate further One of the main things that I would like to look into learning more about is the use of video creation in language and literacy education. In order to more effectively use this type of literacy in the classroom I feel that I need to develop my own knowledge of it and to learn some basics of the programs needed to create video. I would also like to know a bit more about how to incorporate more text into this medium (scripts, etc?). I feel that video as a media is an extremely useful tool for engagement of this generation of students and that it will also fit in well on studies on critical consumerism (mentioned previously).
The second question that I have at this point is how to best involve parents into a classroom language and literacy program involving multiple literacy. Right now I am interested in things such as classroom blogs and wiki's and would like to learn more about how to effectively implement them. While I would like to gather ideas and hear about others success stories in this area, I feel that this question will be best answered by working together with my students and their parents in my own classroom setting.
